iTunes must be installed and open on your computer before you begin. This allows your Windows PC to communicate with your iPhone during setup.

When You Run the Installer

Windows may show a blue "Windows protected your PC" message for new apps that aren't yet widely recognised. It does not mean anything is wrong. To continue:

No. HardStop only installs a configuration profile that blocks adult content. Your apps, data, photos and everything else are completely untouched.

No noticeable impact. The filter runs at the system level and doesn't consume enough power to even notice.

iTunes is what allows your iPhone and your Windows computer to communicate with each other. Macs can talk to iPhones natively because they're both Apple products, but Windows doesn't have that built in. Installing iTunes gives your PC the ability to recognise your iPhone properly, which is what makes the HardStop setup possible without needing a Mac.

This is a standard Windows SmartScreen message that can appear for newer apps that Windows doesn't yet widely recognise. It's safe to continue — just click "More info" and then "Run anyway" to run the HardStop installer.
